Alex supplied the doors, hung them throughout the property, fitted the ironmongery (handles, hinges and latches) and made the finishing adjustments. New flooring and skirting went in on the same job.

Where most of our work is
These are the towns Alex works in most. Find yours, and the note beside it says what the houses there usually need.
Morpeth and north
- Morpeth: a market town with an old stone centre and newer estates around it, so the work runs from re-hanging period doors to second fix on a new build
- Longframlington: stone cottages and conversions, where no wall is square and everything gets scribed (cut to follow the wall)
- Alnwick: older stone houses, where new joinery has to sit beside the original without looking new
South east Northumberland
- Cramlington: a new town, mostly built from the 1960s onwards. Internal doors, flooring, skirting and kitchens suit these houses, and so does garden joinery at the back
- Ashington and Bedlington: long terraces built for the pits, with suspended timber floors. That is where floor and joist repairs, new doors and rental refurbishment fit
Newcastle and Ponteland
- Gosforth, Jesmond and Heaton: Victorian and Edwardian terraces and Tyneside flats. Skirting, architrave and panelled doors get matched to what is already there
- Ponteland: larger detached houses, where kitchens, fitted wardrobes, staircases and garden joinery fit
The wider patch
Beyond those towns we cover six wider areas. A single door in Gateshead is as welcome as a whole house in Morpeth. There is no minimum job, and the quote and the visit are free wherever you are inside that patch.
Small jobs are priced as a job: hanging an internal door is £65 for an eggshell door and £85 for oak. Bigger work is priced by the day at £250 to £300, with the number of days written into the quote before anything starts. Anthracite grey French doors
Supplied and fitted four sets of anthracite grey French doors. The hardware was upgraded to satin nickel/chrome handles and Ultion thumb-turn cylinders (a thumb-turn lets you lock and unlock from inside without a key), keyed alike so one key opens every lock.
Extension roof and floor structure
Joinery for a local builder on a house extension. That meant the structural timber roof and the floor, working alongside the other trades on site.

In Morpeth, Northumberland. There is no showroom or trade counter to visit: Alex comes to you, looks at the job and measures up, then sends the quote in writing.
Which areas do you cover?
Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead, North Tyneside, Northumberland, County Durham and Sunderland. Most of the work is around Morpeth, Cramlington, Ponteland, Ashington, Bedlington, Alnwick, Longframlington, Gosforth, Jesmond and Heaton.
Will you travel further for the right job?
For the right job, yes: Alex will travel as far as Middlesbrough or Edinburgh. Most of the work is local, so if you are a little outside the areas above, ask anyway.
Do you charge for coming out to quote?
No. The visit and the written quotation are free, and there is no obligation once you have it.
Is a small job worth your while if I am out in Alnwick or Sunderland?
Yes. Alex takes on small jobs as well as big ones. A single door is as welcome as a whole house, and the visit and the written quote are free either way.
Who comes out, and who does the work?
Alex comes out himself to look at the job, measure up and talk through the options. He does the joinery and the plumbing himself, and on bigger jobs he brings in a qualified electrician, plasterer and tiler, so you have one point of contact from start to finish.
Is the work guaranteed, and do you clean up?
Every job carries a 12 month guarantee on the workmanship. When the work is finished the area is left clean and tidy, and Alex walks you through it before the final balance is paid.
